Care & Cleaning
Maintaining Your System
In order to keep your system operating at optimum efficiency, there are a few parts to keep clean.

Air Filters
Clean Every 2-4 Weeks
Daikin recommends cleaning the air filters in your indoor unit(s) every two weeks. Allowing dust to build up between cleanings can result in degraded system performance and may ultimately reduce the longevity of your machine.
To clean the filters, wash the filters with water or clean them with a vacuum cleaner. For heavy soiling, wash the filters with a neutral detergent diluted with tepid water and let the filters dry in a shady place.
Refer to your operations manual for specific instructions for your model.
Air Purifying Filters
Clean Every 6 Months
Replace Every 3 Years
Approximately every six months the titanium apatite photocatalytic air-purifying filter should be unclipped from the air filters, cleaned with water, and recharged in the sun for about 30 minutes.
These filters should be replaced every three years under normal operating conditions, or more often in smoky conditions.
Refer to your operations manual for specific instructions for your model.

Outdoor Unit
Clean Every Month
The outdoor unit fan and coil must be kept clean and free of debris. Inspect outdoor coil at least once a month and make sure no leaves, lint, dirt, cottonwood, etc… is collecting on the fins of the coil where the air is drawn into the unit. Brush gently or spray off with water from a hose to remove debris from the exterior of the coil fins
